Yuletide Pro-Am

The Annual Yuletide Pro-Am organised by Head Professional, Peter Baker was held in what can only be described as atrocious conditions. The cold and persistent rain throughout the day made scoring very difficult and thanks must go to the Greens Staff whose efforts in squeegeeing the greens whist play was in progress allowed the tournament to be completed. The professional event was won by Darren Prosser with Peter Baker second. The team event was won by Steve Carter.

2nd: (-6) Paul Broadhurst (European Tour), Ian Guest, Phil Robins & Rob Arrow.
3rd: (-3) Matt Stevens (Kirby Muxloe), Generation Hire Team.
4th: (-2) Peter Baker (South Staffs), Tony Johnson, Neil Follett & Roger Ashton.
Gentlemen's Prize Presentation Evening

The Annual Gentlemen's Prize Presentation Evening was held at the Club on Friday 25th November. Over 
eighty Members attended and enjoyed a splendid meal, a speech from Club Captain, Mike Hughes and the traditional speech from the Club Matchplay Champion (Mander Cup), Tom Hewitt.
The Captain was presented with the Dartmouth Bowl for the Club’s victory in the annual match against Brocton Hall and the Centenary Salver for the success against Kings Norton, Moseley & Stourbridge golf clubs, who all celebrated their centenary in the same year as South Staffs
It was a very successful evening in particular for Tom Hewitt who was presented with six trophies in total; the Vardon Bowl (South Staffs Men’s Open), Mander Cup (Club Matchplay Champion), Sievwright Bowl, Lady President’s Salver and two trophies in partnership with his twin brother Richard – The Tuck Cup (Club Foursomes Champions) and the Winter League.
