What The Experts Say
South Staffordshire Golf Club is well regarded by professional and amateur golfers alike. Visitors appreciate our friendly welcome and facilities alongside an outstanding course.
Though he has played in over 500 professional tournaments around the world, Director of Golf Peter Baker maintains that he still gets a thrill about standing on the first tee at South Staffordshire Golf Club. He says “The opening hole is a perfect starting point, with a slight dogleg left, trees also on the left, out of bounds down the right. It’s an intimidating opening drive and puts the golfer on their mettle.” Peter also picks out two other holes of note - the 457 yard ninth and the 353 yard seventeenth. “It takes two good strikes to clear the bunkers at the front of the ninth while an accurate drive at the seventeenth is a must, where trees on the left and out of bounds on the right are waiting to destroy a good card.”
